According to the reports, a New Jersey police officer has been killed after meeting with a tragic accident. The unfortunate news has been shared by the area’s police department. Reports suggest that the officers received the information of a single-car crash at 3:45 AM. Lakewood Police Department has released a statement with regard to the case. They have stated that the accident occurred in the area of Shorrock Street and Dumbarton Drive which is located near the township’s border with Brick. As soon as the sheriff got the information, they reached the scene to investigate the case further.
It has been shared that the officer is identified as 41-year-old Brian Stockhoff of Jackson. Department said that Stockhoff was travelling south on Shorrock Street in his 2005 Toyota Sienna. The department added that the car struck the wall outside of Leisure Village East community. The accident was so intense that Brian Stockhoff died at the spot only before he could receive any treatment. As the accident happened on Monday morning, not much information was received till the evening.
The officers started their investigation to find out the cause of the accident which snatched Brian’s life this early. The investigation is ongoing in the case as the police department is trying to collect evidence by investigating the incident scene and the footage of the area if available. Lakewood Police Capt Gregory Staffordsmith extended his sincere condolences to the family of the late officer and his brother and sisters at the Ocean County Sheriffs Department. It was added that Brian had started their Mounted Unit and his smile was infectious, genuine, and brought light to any room he entered.
