Khloe Kardashian sparks curiosity after showing off new pet cat on Instagram

Khloe Kardashian has shared an adorable picture of her daughter, True, with their new pet kitten.

While Khloe is known to be more of a dog lover, she explained that her decision to get a cat was made because “Miss True has a love for cats.”

In a series of tweets from August, Khloe discussed potentially getting a cat with fans, and spoke about her desire to get another pet following the death of her dog, Gabbana. She wrote:

“My fur baby Gabbana passed away when I was 6 months pregnant. Emotionally, I wasn’t ready for another fur baby. But now that True is getting older I figured I would get her a dog once we got settled into the new house.”

Three years after Gabbana’s death, Khloe finally felt ready to get another dog. However, True had other ideas and instead insisted on a cat despite Khloe’s constant attempts to “persuade” her otherwise.

What breed is Khloe Kardashian’s cat?

In August, a fan replied to Khloe’s tweets about getting a cat and advised her to get a Russian Blue cat, to which Khloe responded enthusiastically:

“That’s the one I was thinking!!!!! Hoping to find that breed through a rescue but I’m not sure how easy that is. At least I have time to look.”

Judging by the cat’s appearance in Khloe’s Instagram picture, True’s new kitten is in fact a Russian Blue.

Russian Blue cats have short grey hair, and tend to weigh between 7-12 pounds. They live between 15-20 years and are good for those with allergies as they don’t shed much and produce lower levels of the glycoprotein Fel d 1, a known allergen, than other breeds of cat.
