Roy Keane has stated that Everton’s dressing room is ‘no good’ amid rumours that Rafa Benitez will be sacked, as he told Sky Sports Football (15/01/22 at 7:55 pm).

The outspoken TV pundit thinks there is something ‘missing’ at Everton, as he questioned the club’s culture, character and leaders.

Everton suffered a 2-1 defeat to bottom-of-the-table Norwich City on Saturday afternoon, which saw the club’s supporters calling for Benitez’s head.

The away fans made their feelings clear in the stands and they may now get their wish.

Sky Sports report that Everton held an emergency meeting regarding Benitez’s future, after that Norwich defeat, and he is now set for the chop.

Keane didn’t pull any punches when he was told about those rumours, as he shared his thoughts on the Toffees as a whole.

“Every time I see Everton, over the last few months, I must be right, it doesn’t look like a good dressing room,” said Keane.

“Yes, they have some decent players, who will turn up now and again, which is no good to a big club like Everton.

“Obviously, Rafa Benitez will ultimately pay the price if they keep losing and they may do it tonight.

“But I get the impression that something is missing at that football club, whether it’s the culture, lack of character or leaders at the club. I know Seamus Coleman, he’s a good guy. But that’s not a good dressing room.”

Not many will be surprised that Benitez is heading for the exit door after only half a season in the dugout, but it’s a case of what’s next for the Toffees.

Whilst Benitez has made Everton much worse than when he first joined, the problems stem beyond the Spanish coach.

From those who sit in the boardroom to the players out on the pitch, it just seems as though Everton need a refresh from top to bottom.

It has taken around £500 million for Everton to put themselves in this mess, which is one of the biggest problems and it’s scary to think what they will have to do to get themselves out of it.
