Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has shared what he’s heard about Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa after speaking to a number of people associated with the club.

Gerrard arrived at Villa back in November, and it’s fair to say he’s had a brilliant impact at the club so far.

Indeed, the Midlands club have picked up a number of impressive results, and according to Ferdinand and the people he’s spoken to, things are also going brilliantly behind the scenes.

What’s Ferdinand said about Gerrard?

The pundit shared what he’s heard about Gerrard.

“Steven Gerrard has a huge impact man. I’ve spoken to a number of people at the club, players as well, the respect levels are there immediately, because he’s Steven Gerrard, but what’s been more impressive for people there is how he conducts himself around the place. His staff around him are tremendous people, boyhood friends but also people who’ve been around him for years, they’ve really connected with the team and the club immediately,” Ferdinand said.

Perfect start

It sounds as though Gerrard is having the perfect start at Villa.

His team are performing on the pitch, while his coaching staff are also impressing behind the scenes.

So far, this seems like something of a match made in heaven. However, the true test of Gerrard’s mettle will come once Villa have a bad run of form.

Gerrard is yet to have a real bad run in his managerial career so far. After all, his Rangers team was dominant in Scotland, while Villa have been steady so far.

Hopefully, the bad run never comes, but if it does, it will be interesting to see how he copes.
