Novak Djokovic defeated Rafael Nadal to reach the final of the French Open-2021

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic became the second finalist of Roland Garros -2021. In a crazy 1/2 match, he beat 13-time champion Rafael Nadal – 3: 6, 6: 3, 7: 6 (4), 6: 2. The match lasted 4 hours and 13 minutes.

In the first set, Nadal led 5: 0 and was three points away from hanging the handlebars to his opponent. Djokovic managed to reduce the gap, but still gave up the game. In the second, the Serb broke the Spanish twice and equalized the score.

The third set was crazy – Djokovic led 5-4 and 30-0 serving the game, but Nadal scored four points in a row and equalized. At 6: 5, the Spaniard already had a point, but Djokovic held on and pulled out a set in a tiebreaker. In the fourth, Nadal took the lead 2-0, but lost six games in a row.

Fans were allowed to break a curfew for Djokovic and Nadal


Nadal’s record of matches at Roland Garros was 105-3 – he suffered only the third defeat, of which the second was from Djokovic (another from Robin Soderling). The Spaniard has won four years in a row in Paris.

  • In the final, Djokovic will face Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, who beat Sasha Zverev in his semifinals.
  • Novak can win Roland Garros for the second time, Tsitsipas will play for the title at TBSh for the first time.
  • Djokovic will play in the RG final for the 6th time.
