Tafoya is an American former sportscaster who worked as a sideline reporter for NBC Sunday Night Football from 2011 to 2022. She began working in sports journalism in 1994 and reported on the NFL for the last decade. 

Michele has worked with CBS Sports, ABC Sports, WCCO, KQRS Radio, ESPN, and NBC Sports in her three-decade career. She worked as a morning show co-host with KQRS for four years. She is a five-time Sports Emmy Award winner.

Is Michele Tafoya Leaving NBC? 

Michele Tafoya is leaving NBC, and the network confirmed the news in a press release on January 11, 2022. She is leaving NBC Sports to get involved in GOP and pursue other opportunities. 

She left NBC’s Sunday Night Football after the super bowl. The Super Bowl LVI was her final assignment with the network, and she officially departed from NBC Sports on February 13, 2022.

In her recent appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight, Tafoya explained her decision to leave NBC Sports. She revealed that after nearly 30 years of covering sports, she decided to step away from NBC Sports. 

Michele explained that she is getting involved in politics. She is moving on to something where she can “give back” to the country. It has been nagging at her conscience for a very long time, reports FOX News.

Republican Minnesota gubernatorial candidate Kendall Qualls announced that Michele is joining his campaign as co-chair on February 14, 2022.

Michele Tafoya grew up with her parents and family in Manhattan Beach, California. Her parents are Wilma Conley Tafoya and Orlando Tafoya.

Tafoya gave birth to her first child, Tyler Bruce Vandersall. She adopted her second child, Olivia Vandersall, from Columbia, reports The Sun.
