Letters to the Editor — Oct. 5, 2021

The Issue: The Post story on 21 children below 18 who’ve been killed by gun violence in New York City this 12 months.

Someone is lastly talking up concerning the murdering thugs who our metropolis officers have allowed to rule the streets (“Too young to die,” Oct. 2).

Thank You, Post. The mounting violence that’s excused is past perception. No-bail must go.

Twenty-one is simply the variety of these murdered. How many infants and youngsters have been shot and reside with the worry of being shot whereas strolling on the street and even at of their residence?

The reply from progressives is to remove police. Ask most of the people what they are saying about that. Cops are wanted in New York.

Black Lives Matter must step up towards the violence. The 21 teenagers have been all black.

Maureen Sharkey

Some 21 youngsters have been murdered in New York already. What has Mayor de Blasio accomplished to cease this? Nothing.

Bring again cease and frisk and the duty drive to take weapons off the streets.

Saturday’s Post cowl story concerning the deaths of 21 children thus far this 12 months is one more grim reminder that our system and state are damaged, and that the elected Democratic leaders have failed miserably.

No matter who’s in workplace — de Blasio, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo or Gov. Hochul — it seems they can not shake the woke illness infecting their social gathering and their decision-making, and it’s having a catastrophic impact on our folks and state.

In eight brief years, de Blasio returned New York City to the Nineteen Seventies and destroyed what the Mayors Ed Koch, Rudy Giuliani and Mike Bloomberg took years to construct.

I’m questioning what it’s going to take for folks on this state to appreciate that they’re being conned by the Democratic Party and eventually vote them out of workplace to forestall this carnage and additional heartache.

Michael D’Auria

The dying of 21 New Yorkers below the age of 18 in 2021 to this point by shootings is appalling and warrants a large response by all governmental businesses.

Stop-and-frisk is Step 1 if we’re to cut back the carnage and scale back weapons on the road.

I’m positive that the family members left behind to grieve would agree if it meant saving the lifetime of their son or daughter.

The pompous progressives and black activists who search for any excuse to cry racism and police brutality apparently haven’t provide you with a greater resolution.

Boca Raton, Fla.

Twenty-one little kids of New York have misplaced their lives to violence and never one politician has the braveness to name for a conflict on crime.

It is time for all those that persistently vote for the cop-hating liberal Democrats to step again and take an extended exhausting have a look at themselves. They must understand that the corrupt Cuomo was behind the no-bail and Raise the Age legal guidelines.

What good did it do for the residents of New York? De Blasio has tied the palms of police and put each New Yorker in danger.

Election Day is approaching. It is time to take again your streets and defend the youngsters. Vote for the law-and-order candidates who will let the police do their job.

Nicholas Maffei

The variety of children who’ve been killed because of the perpetual onslaught of violent road crime is woefully staggering.

Some of those younger victims have been killed whereas being caught in crossfire. This is demonstrative of a society in unfathomable decay.

While de Blasio despicably meanders about in his remaining few months in workplace, the town continues to be ravaged by barbaric, mindless crime.

The lack of one child to violent crime is a tragedy; 21 is insupportable, and this atrocious development of despicable violence should be aggressively confronted and terminated.

A revamping of the criminal-justice system is a necessity. Giving our officers the latitude to do their jobs ought to be on the forefront of such reform.
