Is the BPM Festival cancelled? What we know about the event


BPM Festival gave everyone something to look forward to. But is the event cancelled now that COVID-19 cases are increasing?

The Festival was all set to take place in Costa Rica from January 12 to 18. Several artists like Mahone, Nick Curly, Addy, and others were set to perform at the event. However, things seem to be looking different now.

Is the BOM Festival cancelled?

The BPM Festival has been postponed due to the restrictions that have been imposed in Costa Rico after the sudden rise of COVID-19 cases. It is unclear when will the festival be held.

An official statement that was released noted: “This morning the Costa Rican President released new COVID-19 restrictions banning mass events from January 11-23. As a result, we are forced to announce the postponement of The BPM Festival: Costa Rica 2022.”

It further added: “After more than a year of planning and looking forward to welcoming you to our 15th-anniversary edition, we sympathize with your sense of disappointment and frustration and are beyond heartbroken to share this news with you.”

What to do if you have the tickets for 2022 event

For those who wish to not attend the festival anymore, you have the option of getting a refund or changing the tickets for Festival 2023.

The statement notes: “As stated when purchasing your festival pass, in the event of postponement you may credit your festival pass to The BPM Festival: Costa Rica 2023, receive the allocated refund, or exchange the value of your festival pass for official BPM merchandise at the Diria Convention Center this week.” You can refer to their full terms by clicking on the link here.

The account further notes: “Xtixs will reach out to festival pass holders within the next seven days. Single-event ticket holders will be automatically refunded via Xtixs. For questions related to hotel reservations via Tulu Travel, please contact [email protected]”
