Liverpool star Mohamed Salah won the Premier League Player of the Year award from the Professional Players Association, which is decided by the fans’ vote.
The Professional Players Association announced that Salah won the award after receiving the highest number of votes.
Salah was not nominated for the Player of the Year award by critics’ vote, which saw the competition between Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes, Tottenham striker Harry Kane, and the Manchester City quartet, Phil Foden, Kevin De Bruyne, Robin Diaz and Ilkay Gundogan.
Before De Bruyne wins it.
But he was nominated for the Player of the Year award, which fans vote on.
Salah was nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season award, but lost it to City defender Ruben Diaz.
Salah was selected in the Premier League team of the season by the Professional Players Association, to be the only player selected from Liverpool.
The Liverpool striker scored 22 goals and assisted 5 in 37 league matches and helped his team grab the third qualifying place for the Champions League.
Salah tried to regain the Golden Boot award for the top scorer in the English Premier League, which he achieved in the 2017-2018 season and the 2018-2019 season, but Harry Kane, the Tottenham striker, grabbed it by a single goal difference after he scored 23 goals last season.
In his first season with Liverpool, the former Arab Contractors player won the award with 32 goals, two goals behind Harry Kane, the Tottenham striker.
In the 2018-2019 season, Salah shared the award with his colleague Sadio Mane and Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with 22 goals.
