President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday requested the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union to ban the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), claiming the group was a terrorist group.
Buhari, speaking in an interview with Bloomberg in Abuja, claimed IPOB was liable for a variety of fatalities and property devastation inside the South-East.
He went on to say that IPOB’s crimes prompted the federal authorities to label the group a terrorist group, and he requested the worldwide group to do the similar.
“We ask our international allies like the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and other international bodies to take additional actions that cost them nothing, by designating another group – IPOB – as a terrorist organization,” mentioned the President.
This has to end. “Their leaders have found refuge in the West, broadcasting hate speech into Nigeria from London, spending millions of dollars in foreign cash to influence members of the US Congress and openly exploiting international financial networks to arm agitators on the ground.”
