Conceived John Joseph Harte III in Newark, NJ on November 15, 1951, he was the more seasoned of two young men brought up in a conventional Irish-Catholic family in neighbouring Passaic. At the point when Harte’s mom startlingly died, he helped help his family while longing for turning into a well-known artist. The rowdy band that Harte played drums and percussion for didn’t keep going long, yet an opportunity experience keeping individuals under control outside a Grateful Dead show would change the direction of his life.

Who Was “Big” John Harte?

In late 1975 he was extended to an employment opportunity with Kiss and went through the following eight years working all day for the band, however left to work with Iron Maiden in 1983 after Kiss’ administration would not pay him a retainer. He worked with Maiden again in 1985 and 1986. One of his last statements was “My favourite experience with them was going behind the Iron Curtain. We got to see and speak with fans that struggled to stay in touch with the western world. It was fascinating.”

“That was mind-boggling and humbling.” said Harte. “I had no idea the fans thought anything of me.” John’s efforts paid off: In late 1975, he was offered the job of a lifetime—traveling on tour with KISS! “Guys like [John] are a rare breed,” states KISS co-founder and frontman, Paul Stanley from his Foreword contributed to Harte’s forthcoming book.
